Jake Roberts: the first defense
The booking logic predicts a long Jake Roberts program: heels ordinarily meet Jake on the road up to or down from the main hero. At an untelevised Syracuse event, however, the Rouge Man sedates him and Barb methodically removes an arm, feeding it to Damien before the remains are converted into velvet for the manager’s cravat.
Another recollection labels the last meeting In Your House 8: Burned at the Snake. The records disagree on presentation but agree that the expected psychological feud is denied duration. The cerebral heavy meets the body that has learned to make psychology anatomical.
Macho Man: the revenge fragment
Savage persists in the source as one of the figures upon whom the underused Barbarian receives revenge once DoTarK rewrites the card. Unlike Jake, the match details do not consolidate. What survives is placement: Macho belongs among the old hierarchy that Barb’s new reign can revisit without asking permission.
Savage survives as a notable opponent because several summaries name him, though no complete finish survives.
Rob Saussario: the finish gets over
At a house show, enhancement talent Rob Saussario is flayed ostensibly to test the response. It gets over. The next night Bad News Barrabas is beheaded on Prime Time, and a near-majority of subsequent enhancement bouts are remembered as honest-to-God flayings.
The squash match becomes auditorial extraction. Enhancement talent once existed to make the featured wrestler legible; the Saussarios are made literally interior, their exposed bodies turned into the clearest possible statement of the system.
Randy Stallings and Dirty Dick Slater
The kayfabe prehistory supplies two smaller but structurally important bouts. Tonga John’s 1989 WCW debut is remembered against the aptly named Randy Stallings. His first match outside enhancement work pairs him with Dirty Dick Slater.
These coincidences become foreboring details after DoTarK: stalling, Johns, dirt and slippage already hiding in the ordinary record. The later archive treats them as seeds while admitting that large data sets manufacture irresistible coincidences.
Why No Gains is elsewhere
Hulk No Gains is not part of this card because the program is larger than a collection of bouts. It is a pedagogical timeline about the sabotage of the comeback, culminating on the Moon. Mixing it into the match list would flatten doctrine into results.
